The world’s most popular bone china, Royal Albert, is loved for its inherent beauty and unique designs. English china inspired by an English country garden, Royal Albert tableware is the epitome of the English floral style.

The success of Royal Albert china, along with its important royal associations, dates back to the late 1800s. In 1896 Thomas Wild took over production of Royal Albert china at the Albert Works in Longton, Stoke-On-Trent, a factory given its title a year earlier to commemorate the birth of Prince Albert. In 1897, Thomas Wild and Co. produced a range of commemorative bone china pieces for Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, an association with royalty that continues to this day.

Royal Albert’s Old Country Roses is still the most popular fine china pattern ever produced. Introduced in 1962, the old country rose china design was inspired by English roses in full summer bloom and continues to be the tableware choice for formal or casual dining around the world.

If you want gilt edged luxury in bone china, try Moonlight Rose bone china. Take a traditional classic, drop in a touch of delicate blue, add 22 carat gold stippled edging, and you have the real romance of Moonlight Rose tableware.

Royal Albert china can be washed in a dishwasher - at a maximum temperature of 65 degrees centigrade. When washing by hand, avoid the use of scouring pads and abrasive washing detergents. Most stains or hardened-on particles can be removed by soaking the item in warm water before washing. Really stubborn stains can be removed by soaking in a mild bleach solution for up to one hour.

Royal Albert china Storage

When storing Royal Albert plates, try not to slide them over one another, as this may cause scratches in the glaze. The surface used on Royal Albert china is hard, however the front of one Royal Albert plate can be scratched by the back of another, so care should be taken when stacking.

We recommend that a paper napkin be placed between each Royal Albert plate. Royal Albert cups should be stored or hung from a cup hook, not stacked, as this weakens the handles.
